Associate Professor Leslie Kendrick represented Boise State University at several international conferences in 2025, sharing her research and expertise with medical imaging educators and technologists throughout Latin America, according to a Mar. 12 announcement. Kendrick’s participation highlights the College of Health Sciences’ focus on advancing health sciences education through research-based practice and global collaboration.
In November, Kendrick delivered a 60-minute session at the Encontro de Profissionais da Radiologia do Ceará in Fortaleza, Brazil. Her presentation focused on updates to the eleventh edition of “Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy,” a textbook she co-authored. She discussed how scientific and clinical evidence informs changes to positioning methods, protocol standardization, and anatomical emphasis, as well as the influence of modern imaging technology on the field.
Earlier in the fall, Kendrick also spoke at the XIX Congreso of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Tecnólogos en Radiología in San José, Costa Rica. Her session there addressed similar textbook revisions and provided insights into how evidence-based curriculum updates can improve diagnostic accuracy and educational clarity for both educators and technologists.
Kendrick further presented on topics related to artificial intelligence in medical imaging. Her sessions examined potential benefits such as enhanced diagnostic accuracy and workflow efficiency while also addressing challenges like algorithm bias, ethical considerations, and clinician trust.
The university said these activities reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting faculty engagement in global academic communities.
