Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently made a series of posts on social media addressing issues related to gender ideology, women’s sports, and immigration enforcement.
On February 4, 2026, Simpson posted concerns about the impact of gender ideology on children, stating: “Thousands of children have been misled by the Left’s dangerous gender ideology insanity. Innocent children have suffered from irreversible damage to their bodies – how has this been normalized? The tide is changing. Common sense prevails!”
Later that day, he marked National Girls & Women in Sports Day with another post: “In recent years, we have seen brave women lead the fight to protect the integrity of female athletics. Today, on National Girls & Women in Sports Day, I’m proud to reaffirm my commitment to protecting their opportunities. And thank goodness we finally have a leader in the White” (February 4, 2026).
On February 5, 2026, Simpson addressed immigration enforcement actions by federal agencies: “.@DHSgov & @ICEgov have been crystal clear about who they are arresting and deporting. DHS has publicly released detailed info—names, countries of origin, criminal histories, and gang affiliations—so YOU know exactly who is being removed. Get them out!”
Simpson has served as Idaho’s 2nd district representative since 1999 after replacing Mike Crapo. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently residing in Idaho Falls at age 72, Simpson graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.
