Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on his official social media account highlighting key policy issues and local military contributions.

On December 11, 2025, Simpson acknowledged the efforts of the Idaho National Guard after meeting with Guardsmen and General Donnellan in Washington D.C. He wrote, “The Idaho National Guard plays a crucial role in ensuring the military’s lethality and readiness while also protecting our homeland. I had the honor of meeting with Idaho National Guardsmen and General Donnellan in DC. Thank you for your service, and may God bless America’s”.

Later that day, Simpson addressed regulatory reform on Capitol Hill. In his post dated December 11, 2025, he stated: “.@HouseGOP promised to provide regulatory certainty for farmers, energy producers, builders, and Americans nationwide. Cutting red tape and enacting commonsense permitting reform is the first step toward delivering that certainty.”

On December 12, 2025, Simpson commented on agricultural policy under President Biden’s administration. He posted: “Simply put, Biden’s disastrous policies hurt American farmers. @POTUS and @SecRollins are reversing the damage done and working to fight for our nation’s great farmers, ranchers, and producers!”

Simpson has served as U.S. Representative since 1999 after succeeding Mike Crapo in Congress.[1] Prior to his congressional career he was a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998.[2] Born in Burley in 1950,[3] Simpson graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.[4]
