Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his activities and views through a series of posts on social media.
On April 3, 2026, Simpson posted about his participation as a judge at a local water event: “It was a great opportunity to attend and participate as a water-testing judge at @IdahoRuralWater’s annual spring banquet. I enjoyed the Great American Water Taste Test! Congratulations to all of the contestants.”
Later that day, he commented on recent economic news, writing: “Look at that number! The economy added 178,000 new jobs in March – about triple the number economists had projected. Wages are rising and things are looking bright under @POTUS. Trust Trump! “
On April 4, Simpson highlighted an Idaho organization’s work: “This is spot on. @ForterraDrive does amazing work in Idaho. Proud to support their mission!”
Simpson has represented Idaho’s 2nd district since 1999 after succeeding Mike Crapo. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950, Simpson currently resides in Idaho Falls and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University.
