Cascadia of Boise was owned by Cascadia Idaho Operations, LLC as of the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported. This Ada County nursing home has been managed by Cascadia Idaho Operations, LLC since Sep. 7, 2016.

The facility operates as a for-profit business.

In that same period, Cascadia of Boise held an overall CMS rating of two, lower than Idaho’s average rating of 3.2 for nursing homes. The CMS evaluates facilities on key components like health inspection performance, staffing metrics, and the standard of resident care.

Records show Cascadia of Boise served an average of 92.5 residents per day during the first quarter of 2026, with a capacity of 100 beds. The facility does not have a hospital affiliation at present.

Financial documents indicate Cascadia of Boise incurred one penalty, resulting in a total fine of $13,049 in the first quarter of 2026.

A total of 12 for-profit nursing homes operated in Ada County, Idaho, at that time.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the population of older adults continues to expand as the number of younger Americans declines. Between 2020 and 2024, there was a 13% increase in people age 65 or older, while the under-18 population dropped 1.7%. Over the last hundred years, the older adult population in the country surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 report found that nearly 50% of adults in this age bracket, representing around 28 million people, are likely to need long-term care and support. Furthermore, the projection is that over a third could eventually rely on nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
