The School for the Digital Future announced on Mar. 9 that it is inviting faculty members to apply for the 2026 AI Institute for Teaching and Learning, a three-day workshop scheduled from May 13-15. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day and will be available both in-person and online.

The institute aims to help educators explore the critical, ethical, and practical implications of artificial intelligence in course design, student engagement, and assessment strategies related to specific courses planned for the academic year 2026-2027.

All faculty members, including adjuncts with varying backgrounds and familiarity with AI, are encouraged to apply if they have a clear course in mind for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. Previous attendees of last year’s institute are also eligible to participate.

Participants will benefit from hands-on workshops using AI tools tailored for teaching and learning, guided discussions on ethical and human-centered integration of AI, support in designing AI-enhanced activities and assessments, collaboration opportunities with interdisciplinary colleagues and experts in artificial intelligence, as well as dedicated working time to integrate new knowledge into their fall classes.

Selected participants will receive a $250 stipend. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person. Faculty interested in joining must complete an application—estimated to take between ten and fifteen minutes—by March 27, with notifications of acceptance expected by April 10.

Applications are now open for those wishing to attend the 2026 AI Institute.
