U.S. Senator Jim Risch has named Survival Garden Seeds, based in Rigby, as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for January 2026. The recognition highlights the company’s role in supporting local communities and contributing to the state’s economy.

“Survival Garden Seeds is a great example of how Idaho small businesses not only make our communities strong but support our economy and supply chains,” said Risch. “Inspired by the Victory Garden movement, Jason and Arianne Spahr are helping people across the U.S. become more self-reliant through gardening.”

The company will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate for its contributions to Idaho.

Senator Risch, who serves as a senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, selects an Idaho small business each month that demonstrates hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to community—values often associated with Idaho’s business environment.

Idaho is regularly noted as one of the top states for doing business in the United States.
