U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) has expressed his appreciation to the interns who worked in his Washington, D.C. office during the fall 2025 term. The interns participated in various activities, learning about federal policymaking and contributing to the daily operations of the office.
“Senate internships offer firsthand experience in public policy and the legislative process to the next generation of Idaho’s leaders,” said Risch. “I applaud this group for the great work they did to serve Idaho.”
The group of interns included Maggie Hunter from Boise, a senior at the University of Idaho majoring in International Studies; Sydney Dean from Rigby, a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Public Policy and Administration; Lauren Davies from Eagle, a sophomore at American University focusing on Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government; and Porter Abplanalp from San Tan Valley, Arizona, a senior studying Political Science and American Government at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Each intern also pursued interests outside their academic responsibilities such as hiking, music, reading, and writing.
