The School of the Arts announced on Mar. 25 that it is accepting student applications for the Sun Valley Field School, scheduled to take place from August 11-15, 2026.

The program is designed for students interested in pursuing creative careers. It offers four days of hands-on learning in Sun Valley, Idaho, where participants will work with professionals such as musicians, gallery owners, filmmakers, writers, curators and arts leaders. Students will have behind-the-scenes access to galleries, festivals, performances and creative organizations during the field school.

Students who are selected to participate will also earn course credit for their involvement in the program. To be eligible to apply, students must have a declared major, minor or certificate within a department of the School of the Arts; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; be in good standing with the university; have upper division standing; and be available both for pre-field school meetings in July and August as well as all five days of the program itself.

Applications are due by April 15, 2026. Those accepted into the field school will receive notification on May 1, 2026.

More information about departments and programs eligible for application can be found through official university channels.
