FOIA Request to Idaho State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
Boise City Wire, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Idaho Public Records Act § 74-101 et seq. The request seeks access to a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and general instruction.
As a media outlet committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we at Boise City Wire believe that access to these records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and dissemination.
Given our role in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also expressed our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional. This request aligns with our mission of providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs while promoting transparency and accountability.
We await the response from the Idaho State Board of Education and will continue our work in bringing important information about educational policies and practices to light.
