U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Jim Risch are set to attend the 2025 Munich Security Conference in Germany. As the Ranking Member and Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, respectively, they will engage with global national security leaders to discuss strategic cooperation on shared global security objectives.
Senator Shaheen expressed her enthusiasm for attending the conference at a critical time globally. "Every year, this conference serves as an important reminder that when we work together with our partners and allies, we get results," she stated. She looks forward to discussing global challenges alongside foreign leaders and emphasized her pleasure in doing so with Senator Risch.
Senator Risch highlighted several ongoing international issues: "Between rising aggression from China, turbulence in the Middle East, and Putin’s ongoing war against Ukraine, the world faces many security crises." He anticipates discussions at the conference on how the Senate Foreign Relations Committee can collaborate with allies to enhance American interests and global security.
The 61st Munich Security Conference is scheduled from February 14 to 16, 2025, at Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.
