The Boise Districting Commission is inviting the public to draft and submit districting maps using software linked on the Districting Commission website. Maptitude will be available for the public to use for two weeks, from September 29 through October 13. Proposed maps must include 6 districts with one or more contiguous election precincts and substantially equal populations in each district. Proposed maps should also keep communities of interest, election precincts and census tracts whole to the extent possible.
Commissioners Micki Love, Quinn Perry, Kathy Peter, Travis Spiker and Carolina Valderrama Echavarria will meet again on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, where they will hold a public hearing. Residents are invited to testify, discuss maps they have drafted, and comment on any of the maps or the districting process. The Commission meetings are live streamed on the City of Boise’s YouTube channel. Residents can also submit written comments through the Districting Commission website.
Updates on Commission meetings, opportunities for community input and maps are available on the city website. https://www.cityofboise.org/government/boards-and-commissions/boise-districting-commission/
