Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) is scheduled to address the Senate floor around 12:15 PM ET. As the Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, she intends to criticize what she describes as "damaging and reckless actions" by the Trump Administration against the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). According to Shaheen, these actions threaten both U.S. national security and economic stability.

In her speech, Senator Shaheen will align with her Democratic colleagues in opposing Russell Vought's confirmation as the nominee for the Office of Management and Budget. She cites concerns over a decision by the Trump Administration to stop federal funding for grants and loans, which she claims is causing uncertainty and chaos in essential services that Americans depend on.

Shaheen's remarks can be viewed live from the Senate floor or through a livestream.
