Congressman Mike Simpson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Idaho's 2nd District, shared his views on various national issues through a series of tweets. These tweets address topics such as energy policy, taxpayer spending, and law enforcement support.

On February 3, 2025, Congressman Simpson extended his congratulations to Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate on initiatives aimed at boosting domestic energy production and enhancing national energy security. "Congratulations to Secretary of Energy @ChrisAWright_! As a longtime member of the House Appropriations Energy & Water Subcommittee, I look forward to working together to UNLEASH domestic energy, ENHANCE our nation's energy security, and RESTORE American energy dominance."

On February 4, 2025, Simpson addressed fiscal responsibility in government spending by voicing his support for legislation that protects Second Amendment rights. He emphasized that taxpayer dollars should not benefit corporations undermining these rights. "Americans' taxpayer dollars should never go into the pockets of corporations that undermine the Second Amendment. Proud to cosponsor @RepJackBergman's FIND Act and responsibly spend taxpayer dollars while protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens."

Later that day, he reported on a meeting with Idaho Sheriffs Chris Goetz and Sam Hulse about border security and the fentanyl crisis. Simpson reiterated his support for law enforcement officers both in Idaho and nationwide. "Had a productive meeting with Idaho Sheriffs Chris Goetz and Sam Hulse to discuss border security and the ongoing fentanyl & opioid crisis. I back the blue and will continue to support bills that uphold the brave work of our law enforcement in Idaho and across the nation."
