On March 11, 2025, Simpson expressed concern over opposition to a Continuing Resolution (CR) that includes funding for Wildland Fire Management. He stated: "A vote against today’s CR is a vote against prioritizing funding for Wildland Fire Management, including a permanent solution for wildland firefighter pay." He further emphasized the importance of supporting those who risk their lives to protect others.
Later that day, he tweeted about the Vice President's meeting with House Republicans. Simpson remarked: "Great to have @VP with @HouseGOP this morning! Among many America First priorities, House Republicans remain committed to securing our borders, strengthening our military, and unleashing energy independence."
