He emphasized support for President Biden's efforts to stop the influx of this drug at the southern border.

The following day, February 7, 2025, he turned his attention to energy policy: "The American people gave Republicans a mandate to unleash American-made energy, reduce energy costs, and restore energy independence." Simpson announced his affirmative vote on the Protecting American Energy Production Act.
