He emphasized his role in securing funding for the facility through Community Project Funding, highlighting the significance of this onsite medical training and readiness center as an impressive achievement.

The following day, April 18, 2025, Simpson reiterated his commitment to Idaho's needs, noting that as the state’s sole appropriator, he remains "PROUD to fight for Idaho’s priorities". He addressed criticisms of Community Project Funding, defending the practice as a beneficial use of Idaho tax dollars, specifically citing the Idaho Air National Guard Medical Training Facility as a non-wasteful investment.

On April 19, 2025, Simpson celebrated National Park Week, encouraging residents to visit national parks and sites, particularly those in or near Idaho’s 2nd District. He expressed enthusiasm for "Craters of the Moon", noting it as one of his preferred destinations among the national park treasures.

Mike Simpson, whose career in public service began in the Idaho House of Representatives in 1984, has continued to focus on advancing both state and national interests.
