Congressman Mike Simpson, who has represented Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1999, shared a series of updates on social media reflecting his recent activities and engagements.

On December 5, 2024, Congressman Simpson expressed his enthusiasm after attending discussions with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on Capitol Hill regarding their plans for Dogecoin. He noted the importance of working collaboratively to reduce spending and eliminate unnecessary regulations in Washington. "I enjoyed hearing from @elonmusk and @VivekGRamaswamy on Capitol Hill as they shared their plans for @DOGE."

The following day, December 6, 2024, he congratulated students from Malad High School for being chosen to decorate Idaho's Christmas tree this year. The tree is set to be displayed near the National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C., inviting visitors from Idaho to view the ornaments crafted by these students. "Congratulations to Malad High School students for being selected to decorate the Idaho Christmas tree this year!"

Later that day, Congressman Simpson highlighted an educational session titled "Appropriations 101," featuring insights from the Dean of the House and Chairman of the Commerce, Justice, and Science Subcommittee of House Appropriations GOP. This session focused on how appropriations bills are designed to support law enforcement efforts and combat illicit drug trafficking. "We're back with Appropriations 101! "
