Mike Simpson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Idaho's 2nd District since 1999, and previously a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998, shared several updates on social media regarding events and appointments related to Idaho interests. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950, and residing in Idaho Falls, Simpson is known for his active engagement in both state and national issues.

On March 26, 2025, Congressman Mike Simpson remarked on the success of the first Idaho Industries Breakfast of the year. He expressed gratitude to participants and extended particular thanks to Tom Schultz, a fellow Idahoan and the Chief of the Forest Service, who provided an update at the event. In another update on the same day, Simpson commended President Trump's selection of Alex Adams for a position within the administration, emphasizing the pride of Idaho residents in having another Idahoan in a federal role. Later, Simpson shared his views on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, asserting that taxpayer money should not support such programs. He applauded President Trump's efforts to counter DEI agendas within the federal government, which he regards as divisive. "Americans' tax dollars should not support, promote, or fund DEI in any way, shape, or form. The divisive DEI agenda has nothing to do with promoting and celebrating the arts, and I applaud @POTUS's efforts in combating these initiatives throughout the federal government."
